You are only as good as your word. Honesty is the best policy.
To have a friend, be one. The Laws of Life
are the core values that we take with us wherever we go and whatever
we do. The Laws of Life Essay Contest challenges young people
of all ages to discover for themselves the values that will guide
them throughout life. |

The Laws of
Life Essay Contest is special because
the program emphasizes reflection and writing.
The
contest encourages students to think about
the people
and experiences that have helped to shape
their
values. It challenges them to take a stand
for what
they believe in.
Unlike most essay
contests, this contest doesn’t
tell young people what to write about. There
is no
prescribed topic students have to address.
They just
have to write
from the heart.
The contest enables
community members to partner
with their schools and make a difference
in the lives of
young people. Click
here to find out more about why
so many individuals, businesses, and civic
groups
have started the contest in their community. |

The Laws of
Life Essay Contest is conducted locally in
communities around the world. Each community
sponsors and organizes its own contest, using
our
free Contest
Information Kit. Every contest is unique
because all of the decisions for the program
–
such as the prizes, who will judge the essays – are
made by local organizers.
While most contests
take place in high schools,
programs have been started for kids of all
ages, from
elementary school to college. Click
here to hear from
teachers about the benefits of the contest
at all age
levels.
All contests hold
an awards ceremony at which the young
essayists are honored in front of their parents,
teachers,
school administrators, and members of the
community. Many times the top prizewinners read their
essays to the audience. |
